Youth Ministry Architects Assessment

Early in the month of May the session invited Stephanie Caro, Lead Consultant for Youth Ministry Architects to come and provide us with an assessment of our current youth ministry program AND make some recommendations concerning its future.  If you will click on the document link below, you'll find a copy of her assessment and the plan she's recommended we put in place to effectively renovate, or revitalize, our youth ministry program here at WPC.

Youth Ministry Architects Assessment

As you can see from this report, the next step in its implementation is the assembly of a Youth Renovation Team.  That team has now been formed and they will begin their work of following through on the plan that Stephanie has recommended.  Here are the members of that committee:

John Meynardie, Moderator
Scott Ellzey
Joyce Bendall
Rebecca Gregory
Garnie Dubuisson

We think you'll agree that these five individuals are what Youth Ministry Architects refers to as "key stakeholders" in this ministry.  Three of them either have children in the youth program or soon will.  Four of them are elders and either are or have moderated permanent committees of the session in the past.  All are active in the worship and instructional life of the church.  And each has vowed to do their best to revitalize our youth ministry program.

In the next few days we will also be forming a Youth Renovation Prayer Team, as well.  This team will both undergird and bath this Youth Renovation Team with prayer as they go about their work.  If you would like to serve on this prayer team, please let either Pastor Bendall, a member of our session, or our church staff know of your interest.  We'll see that you get plugged into this very important ministry.

Finally, within the next couple of weeks, as the Youth Renovation Team begins its work, be looking for an announcement from them concerning their first big "event," a churchwide, Visioning / Discipleship Retreat.  Everyone interested in sharing their hopes and dreams for the future of our youth ministry program will be invited to come and participate.

Please keep this Youth Renovation Team and their work in your prayers.
