Christmas and New Year's Calendar
First, let me wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
I pray the light of Christ grows ever brighter in your life this Christmas eve and morning...and then throughout the New Year upon us!
We will worship as a church family at a Candlelight / Communion Christmas Eve Service on Saturday evening, December 24th at 5 p.m. in our sanctuary. Traditional hymns and carols will be sung. Brief messages for both children and adults will be delivered. Communion will be served by intinction (i.e. coming forward to receive the elements). And candles will be lit symbolizing the coming of Christ's light into the world!
Then, on Christmas morning, December 25th at 10:30 a.m., we'll meet again in the sanctuary to celebrate the birthday of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Dress is casual for this worship service and it will be filled with songs and prayers and readings and a lesson entitled, "The Greatest Gift of All."
Though I will be away on New Year's morning, Elder John Meynardie will be here to lead everyone in worship. Sunday, January 1, 2012, we will have morning worship at 10:30 a.m. in our sanctuary. Elder Judy Crowe will be here to assist John in worship leadership that morning, so I encourage everyone to be here. They've told me they'll have everyone out in time for New Year's lunch and kick off of several afternoon football games!
Again, let me wish everyone reading this blog a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
